Personal Leave

For leaves of absence that are not covered under the Family and Medical Leave Act or for employees who do not qualify for FMLA, unpaid leave for personal reasons may be granted. The request for such leaves should be in writing, and your manager will submit the request to appropriate management for approval.

Personal leave can be granted for up to 30 days. If leave is extended beyond 30 days, vacation time and other benefits will no longer accrue. You should also check to determine if your insurance coverage is in force during a leave of absence.

You must notify the company 15 days prior to your expected return date. Upon return, you will be placed in the job held before leave, unless it has been necessary for the company to fill the position in order to continue normal

operations. In this case, you will be placed in another position, if available, for which you are qualified. If no such position is available, you will be placed on layoff status. Employees on a leave of absence during job posting periods are not eligible to apply to posted job vacancies.

If you do not return from any leave of absence within three days of the agreed date or an approved extension date, you will be considered to have voluntarily resigned from employment.
