Computer Software Duplication
ACS Technologies does not condone the illegal duplication of software. According to U.S. copyright law, illegal reproduction of software can be subject to civil damages and criminal penalties include fines (up to $100,000) and imprisonment (up to five years).
The Copyright Law is very clear. Title 17 of the U.S. Code states that it is illegal to make or distribute copies of copyrighted material without authorization (Section 106). The only exception is the user's right to make a backup copy for archival purposes (Section 117).
ACS Technologies licenses the use of computer software from several outside companies, and unless authorized by the manufacturer, neither the software nor related documentation can be duplicated. You should use this software on local area networks or on multiple machines only in accordance with license agreements.
If you learn of any misuse of software or related documentation, you should notify your manager.
