Absenteeism and Tardiness
Being at work when scheduled and being on time are reasonable expectations of our company. PTO and vacation time are provided to accommodate absences because of illness, emergencies, and pressing personal business that cannot be scheduled outside normal work hours.
In case of an emergency absence, you should notify your manager as soon as possible.
Necessary absences known in advance should be arranged with your manager ahead of time so that suitable work coverage arrangements can be made.
Excessive absenteeism or excessive tardiness is considered detrimental to good business practices. Should incidents of absenteeism or tardiness become excessive, the employee’s supervisor/manager will address this with the employee directly. Uncorrected, on-going excessive absenteeism and/or tardiness would warrant disciplinary action.
