Short Term Disability Insurance
Employees regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week and classified as regular full-time or 3/4 employees are eligible for Short Term Disability Insurance
Employees out of work under medical care are eligible for Short Term Disability Insurance once they have been out of work for fourteen (14th) calendar days Coverage begins on the fifteenth (15th) day Under this plan, eligible employees may receive 66% of base wages (and commission) up to a maximum of $1,500 per week for up to a maximum of 13 weeks
Premiums for Short Term Disability Coverage are paid on an after-tax basis, making this benefit tax-free Benefits are paid on a weekly basis directly from the provider
While receiving Short Term Disability payments, employees will be responsible for reimbursement to the company of certain payroll deductions ie employee portion of health plan, dental plan and/or voluntary life While receiving Short Term Disability payments, employees are not eligible to utilize accrued PTO or vacation time
FMLA will run concurrently with appropriate Medical Leaves of Absence, typically associated with receiving Short Term Disability Insurance benefits
