Transfer Data

Load Data from Realm

Load your Realm data in DioOffice.

DioOffice can load family/member information from parishes that use Realm. Unlike in other data transfers, parishes don't need to 'push' the data to your diocese.

Here are the steps to load parish data from Realm:

Set Up the Web Service Information

With this option, you can set up the connection to the web service that handles the synchronization of data between the diocese and parishes.

  1. On the Parishes & Facilities tab, click Data Transfer > DioNet Web Service > Set up the Web Service Information.
  2. Click Set up the Web Service Information.
    The Diocesan ID automatically displays based on the site number entered in the License Information window.
  3. Enter the Password provided when you purchased your PDS program.
  4. Enter the Web Service URL provided by PDS.
  5. Enter the Web Service ID and Web Service Password provided by PDS.
  6. Click Test the Web Service Connection.
  7. If you want to load data from parishes that are using Realm, enter the Realm ID.
  8. Click Save.

Add Realm Site IDs

For each parish that uses Realm, add the Realm Site ID to the record in DioOffice. This will be used to link the Realm account once the parishes authorize the connection.

  1. On the Parishes & Facilities tab, click Parishes & Facilities.
  2. Locate the parish that uses Realm.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Password.
  4. Select Church uses Realm.
  5. Enter the Realm Site ID for the parish.
    Note: Parishes can locate their site number in Realm by going to Account Summary. The 6-digit ID displays in the green box at the top-right.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat this for each parish that uses Realm.

Get Parishes to Authorize the Connection

Each parish must allow your diocese to pull their data within Realm. Contact your parishes and have them authorize the connection in Realm.

In Realm, the parish can go to Settings > DioSync, and select the option to sync profile field information to your diocese.

Attach Parishes to Realm Sites

Once the connection is authorized with each parish, you can attach each site.

  1. On the Parishes & Facilities tab, click Parishes & Facilities.
  2. Locate the parish that uses Realm.
  3. In the navigation menu, click Password.
  4. Click Attach to Realm.
  5. Repeat this for each parish that uses Realm.

Load Realm Data

Once you link all your sites to Realm, you can load the data. Use the family/member sync process, and click Yes when prompted to refresh Realm data.

Note that you cannot send data back to Realm, so the options to Send Data To Parish and Both Get and Send Data will not be available for Realm parishes. You can select either Do Nothing or Get Data From Parish.
